New favorite things...

I am very sleepy & have a very busy weekend ahead of me. So here it goes, the podcasts that keep me trucking:

I lOvE "You Look Nice Today" a journal of emotional hygiene. I don't know why it took me this long to start listening, how I missed it in the first place since John Hodgman is involved and I don't know if I can wait till they release a new episode! Come on mr.drug dealer! You can't hook a girl with your best stuff and then get picked up for assault! I need my fix.

My daily listen while at work is the mish-mash of great productions that come from the How Stuff Works series of podcasts. How Stuff Works features Chuck & Josh who explain everything from Cloud Computing, Extended Warranties & Where the best place to take a bullet is. TechStuff is my fave with Chris & John. Well, that's not fair, because the How Stuff Works series is by far my fave quirky knowledge podcast.
Urban Exploring, Forgotten Detroit, CES 2009 details, Centralia, PA - all the joy!!

And I still love ijustine for short, informative, funny bursts of knowledge. You can check her out on youtube, or here.

Change!

Hopefully change really is on the way. I am so glad we were able to make the first step in a LONG line of needed changes. Regardless of who you were in the race for, our 44th President has been elected and we have to stand behind him. This is our chance to show other nations that America is still the powerful, innovative country that we have been - we just had a detour.

Oh, more ramblings later... I am in the midst of a 30 Rock marathon. I have seen an episode here and there but decided to watch from the beginning. I am currently on episode 13 of season 1 - Up All Night. I love comedy that requires attention be paid in order to get all the good jokes.

VOTE!!!

People! Vote!! I know the choices are awful and no one candidate is guaranteed to solve all our problems, but the last 8 years have been HELL!!!! We can't change it if we don't even act on it!!! Make a conscious effort to make a change. Research the candidates from President to Sheriff, and make the best knowledgeable decision that you can.
Will the decision you make be the "right" one? You don't know, we won't know. It's history that will tell us. But we have to do something. Anything. America needs good leadership and that goes from the bottom up. Please try to vote. It's easy and you can early vote VERY EASILY! I voted absentee - found the application online, submitted it via fax and received it in the mail the very next day. I sent mine back right away, but you have up until the day of the election to get it postmarked. EASY!

8 more years of Bush-like politics will devastate America. Please do your part to help.

Also, please remember the men & women who serve this country in the Armed Forces. They are there because they love their country and all the things that come with it, not because they agree with the war. Keep them in your thoughts and prayers every day.
